The Healing Properties of Foods

Healing properties of products humans have long learned to use all kinds of foods, primarily plant-based, for medicinal purposes.And today, despite the presence of a large number of synthetic drugs, genuine medical preparations are widely known.

Knowing the healing properties of individual foods allows them to be successfully used to treat not only adults but also children with various health conditions and illnesses.

MILK

FERMENTED MILK PRODUCTS

Fermented milk products are widely used in dietary nutrition. During lactic acid fermentation, they produce a powerful antiseptic—lactic acid. The acidic environment promotes the absorption of calcium, iron, and vitamin D, and improves digestion and absorption by increasing the activity of intestinal enzymes and increasing gastric juice secretion. Lactic acid normalizes intestinal peristalsis, participates in the breakdown of the milk protein casein, and is bacteriostatic. The presence of harmless microbes in fermented milk products prevents the proliferation of pathogenic and putrefactive microbes in the intestines. Cottage cheese contains a huge amount of calcium, potassium, and phosphorus, which makes it a valuable product for those suffering from rickets, osteomyelitis and other diseases accompanied by disorders of phosphorus and calcium metabolism.

CHEESE

Cheese is also a high-protein product, prepared, like cottage cheese, using milk. Cheese is indicated in the diet of weakened people during recovery after infectious diseases, operations, etc.

It is also used as a diuretic, choleretic, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent for diseases of the liver, kidneys, stomach, and intestines. Burns are treated with pomegranate juice diluted with water. A decoction of pomegranate peel is used to remove worms.

WALNUT

Walnuts have a low biological value due to the huge content of vegetable proteins, fats, minerals and vitamins. In terms of nutritional value, walnuts are 3 times superior to wheat bread, potatoes – 7 times, apples – 12-13 times. They are recommended for weakened people, as they relieve fatigue, restore strength and vigor. There are recommendations for consuming walnuts with honey for hypertension, and nut milk for intestinal disorders (constipation).

YEAST

Baker’s yeast is a high-protein product. Pressed yeast contains 16% protein, dry yeast contains 50 percent. They are also full of mineral vitamins and substances, especially the B team. Dry brewer’s yeast is more full of vitamins of the B team. In therapeutic nutrition, yeast can be used to enrich the diet with B vitamins.

BREAD

Bread does not have any special beneficial properties. The biological value of bread proteins is relatively low due to the lack of significant amino acids such as lysine and threonine. Nevertheless, it is rich in mineral vitamins and team B substances. Both wheat and rye bread can be used in therapeutic nutrition. Wheat is absorbed and digested better. Rye bread is indicated for constipation, but is prohibited for cholecystitis and peptic ulcers. For people with these diseases, it is even better to consume wheat bread not fresh, since it has a pronounced sokogonny behavior.

GREATS
