Air conditioning

Every adult knows what an air conditioner is – a wonderful device that supplies us with cool and fresh air. In fact, this is not entirely true. More precisely, not at all 🙂 And why is hair balm also called conditioner? And what kind of process is this – conditioning? There are many questions, but all the answers are already ready, they are in this article.
Theory: what is conditioning
Let’s start with the terms, especially since after studying them much becomes clear. If we talk about the process in general, the word “conditioning” itself comes from the English “condition” – condition. Thus, a general definition of this process can be derived.
Conditioning is the creation and maintenance of certain conditions.
That is why a hair product that evens out its texture is also called conditioner. Moreover, in an interesting way, this term was most useful in hairdressing and in creating a comfortable microclimate. In this area, air conditioning is the automatic creation and maintenance of specified microclimate conditions in enclosed spaces, such as temperature, humidity, and air flow speed. In this case, conditioning includes both all conditions at once, and only one of them. Air conditioning is most often confused with ventilation. Contrary to the stereotype, these are not synonyms. If air conditioning creates and maintains air parameters in a room, then ventilation is responsible for its inflow and outflow, which means that without ventilation, air conditioning is incomplete. Again, based on the definition of the process, we can conclude that the fan performs the functions of just air conditioning – that is, it changes the speed of flow without supplying new air masses, and not ventilation, as would follow from its name.
Indoor air conditioning, as we have already found out, is a heterogeneous concept. And, depending on which parameters are formed and maintained, two types of conditioning are distinguished:
- Temperature regulation. Everything is simple here – the air passes through the cooling element, due to which its temperature decreases, or through the heating element – to increase the temperature. There are many possibilities for implementation here, but we will not delve into the technical jungle.
- Humidity regulation. It is realized due to the evaporation of steam from the air and its condensation.
Practice: Air conditioning systems

If there is a process, then there is equipment that can implement it. Nowadays, an indoor air conditioning system is no longer exotic, and in many houses they begin to install it during construction, and are widely used in everyday life and in industrial enterprises. Thus, we come to the first classification of such devices:
- Comfortable. Air conditioning systems in an apartment or office perform the task of creating comfortable conditions, but the operation of which does not depend on anything other than the comfort of the people in the room.
- Technological. They are used in industries where certain microclimate parameters are required for the correct technological process.
Air conditioning systems are also divided by power – into domestic and commercial. Household ones are characterized by low productivity and are able to provide only a relatively small space, while commercial ones can work on huge areas and entire buildings.
Air conditioning in an apartment: types of household systems

If you are unlucky enough to have no air conditioning installed in your home, most likely you have thought about purchasing an air conditioner. Now manufacturers offer many options: single-block, split and multi-split systems, climate control systems, breathers and other air conditioning units or equipment with such a function can literally drive the user crazy. Let’s look at everything in order.
Air conditioners
Household air conditioners are monoblock and multiblock. If the air conditioner fits in one unit, then usually these are window or mobile models. In this case, the unit is installed with a supply fan inside the apartment, and a large and rather noisy box with all the technical equipment comes out. A mobile air conditioning system in a house is different in that the entire unit can be placed in the room and moved if necessary. Such systems are often used by city residents as a temporary solution in case of heat or during an upcoming move, since it is convenient to take the air conditioner with them to a new apartment, but at the same time, the price is not too different from full-fledged stationary systems – on average, such devices cost from 10, 000 rubles.
Multi-block systems, in turn, can be divided into split systems (consisting of an internal unit supplying cooled air and an external unit installed behind the wall) and multi-split systems. The latter are distinguished by the presence of a common external unit and several internal ones, which allows you to install an air conditioning system throughout the house. Separating the functions of the blocks allows you to make split systems almost silent, and in addition, you can install an external unit in any part of the apartment and adjust the microclimate not only of the home itself, but also of a separate room. However, the installation of such systems is characterized by both a high price and serious installation requirements, which only an experienced specialist can meet – the system blocks are combined with communications, and they are usually placed in the walls.
Other air conditioning systems
Automation of air conditioning systems has led to the creation of more functional and intelligent products. For example, the MagicAir smart microclimate system, which automatically regulates the operation of breathers in the house, maintaining the optimal level of carbon dioxide and the user-selected temperature, immediately solving the main problems of air conditioning and additionally supplying the room with fresh air. In addition, the MagicAir system can control air conditioners and humidifiers, which allows you to configure all air conditioning parameters from one convenient interface and avoid wasting time on manual control of devices.
Surprisingly, no matter how little we understand what air conditioning is, everyone understands that without it there will be no healthy microclimate in the house. Comfortable “house weather” includes not only temperature and humidity, which most air conditioning systems target, but also carbon dioxide levels. When it rises above the norm, a false feeling of heat and stuffiness is created, which cannot be corrected by cooling with a conventional air conditioner, so it is worth approaching the problem of air conditioning rationally, and when choosing a system for your home, choose the most functional complex that is capable of creating and maintaining the desired microclimate. The company “Climate Factory” carries out sale and installation of air conditioners at your home or business premises.
