Characteristics and types of shovels for snow removal

for summer residents, every winter there is an unnecessary task – snow removal. And those who end the summer season in the fall encounter this least often.Despite the fact that it is worth coming at least sometimes and shoveling away wooden windows and walls, throwing snow off the roofs of buildings, otherwise in the spring you may find roof collapse and other unpleasant results of wintering. At the moment, shopping centers sell relatively many different designs for snow removal: from mechanical to complex units powered by fuel or electricity. And yet, in my opinion, the most effective device for removing snow is a simple elementary snow shovels in theory, everything is great because: I started the same walk-behind tractor with an auger rotor and things went much more lively, but in reality it is possible to encounter a number of troubles:

• the installation is electric, but the lights were turned off due to bad weather;
• the barn door is frozen, it itself needs to be cleared of ice and snow, where the walk-behind tractor is located;
• won’t start;
• no fuel or oil;
• won’t start.

This won’t happen with a shovel. It is either suitable for work, or it is time to change it. As a last resort, at any time it is possible to pick up a simple shovel and do at least some clearing with it, but this quickly gets tiring due to the weight of the shovel itself and the large volume of work. Based on this, it is worth having a special snow shovel on the farm.

Stores can be divided according to several parameters.

According to the shape of the bucket:

• three-breasted,
• double-breasted (in most cases with a screw),
• single breasted.

According to the material:

• galvanized,
• plastic (composite),
• woody,
• titanium,
• duralumin,
• aluminum.

It is also possible to find samples made of rail steel.

For reinforcing structural elements:

• there is an aluminum edge on the working edge of the shovel,
• with stiffening ribs on the bucket,
• without them.

By mechanization: with or without auger. By the way, the now advertised mechanical snow shovel with an auger is not that effective in the field.

By type of design:

• regular classic,
• scraper – a special distinctive feature: a wide bucket and an arc-shaped handle, recommended only for removing snow by moving it, suitable for cleaning huge
• areas with a flat plane;
• scraper – something between a simple shovel and a drag (scraper): it is possible to both throw snow to the side and move it;
• grader or manual bulldozer – in addition to the bucket, it is equipped with wheels that are attached to a welded frame along with other elements.

Their features and types

You can make it yourself or purchase a store-ready snow shovel. In most cases, a self-propelled gun is not very strong, has poor ergonomics, and is heavy. Especially if this is the first attempt to make such a tool. Still relatively free.
